The NBI Climate Proofing Course introduces instruments and methodologies for the climate proofing of infrastructure investments along the investment cycle. The course offers guidance on overcoming governance challenges for climate change and covers themes from policy formulation to project identification, preparation, resource mobilization, construction and the operation and maintenance of new and existing infrastructure.

This course provides an introduction to the Nile Basin Decision Support System and water resources modeling tools.

The NBI Hydromet Monitoring course introduces the key elements for the implementation and operation of the hydrologic monitoring program. It includes Learning Units on civil works, monitoring equipment, operation and maintenance, and communications. Additional modules are planned, including real-time data transmission, data management and quality control, basic hydraulics, and rating curve development.

This course addresses the principle for good e-flows, aspects of e-flows assessment methods, transboundary management principles and practices, application of regional E-flow assessments and the implementation of the Nile E-flow framework and the management of e-flows in the context of SDGs.

This course is intended to acquaint participants with the broader NBI Policy Framework and with the outputs from the project on Strengthening the Policy Frameworks for Transboundary Water Resources Management in the Nile Basin (2022) This involved an in-depth review and learning process regarding the currently existing arrangements for transboundary water cooperation in national policies and related institutional frameworks.
